  • Founder

Jack Skille is an American hockey player born and raised in Madison, WI. Jack grew up playing youth hockey throughout the Madison area with the Westmorland Saints, Madison West Flyers, and Southwest Eagles youth hockey organizations. He then attended Verona Area High School for two years while playing for their varsity high school team and Team Wisconsin.

Jack committed to the University of Wisconsin Madison for a full scholarship during his sophomore year at Verona at the age of 15. The National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, MI is where he spent his junior and senior year of high school, competing against NAHL, college and other countries on the world stage. In 2005 Jack was part of the Team USA U-18 World Championship team in Pilsen, Czech Republic. After his senior season was completed, Jack was selected 7th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL draft. Jack was also a silver medalist in the 2004 U-18 World Championships in Minsk, Belarus and a bronze medalist in the 2007 World Junior Championships in Leksand, Sweden.

Jack would go on to play for the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 2005-2007, winning a national championship with the 2006 national championship team. Jack’s biggest goal of his career was scored that season in triple overtime against Cornell to send the 2006 team to the frozen four.

After the 2007 season at the University of Wisconsin Madison Jack signed his 3 year entry-level contract with the Blackhawks where he would spend most of those years developing in the AHL with the Rockford Ice Hogs in Rockford, IL. Jack was fortunate to be an injury reserve player for the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks team, and learned a lot about the greatest of commitment and determination that it takes to accomplish the ultimate team goal in all of professional hockey. In 10 seasons in North America, Jack played 211 AHL and 368 NHL games. His last two seasons were successful professional tryouts with the Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks.

Jack officially retired from professional hockey in 2021 after his his 14th season, after playing for Salzburg Red-Bull in Austria. Jack has competed in 684 professional games, not including playoffs, in his 14 seasons of professional hockey. Jack has been running youth camps & clinics since 2019, was the Director of Development for the Park City Ice Miners youth organization in Park City, UT during the 2021-22 season. Director of Hockey for Valley Sports Academy in Eau Claire, WI, in 2022-23. After moving back to Utah, Jack is now currently building and executing Jack Skille Hockey Academy in the greater Salt Lake City area.
